Fig Interiors was hand-picked to be featured on Houzz!

We are so proud and humbled by the fact that Houzz approached us to do an editorial feature on one of our recent projects.

A link to the article can be found at the end of this post.

The goal of this project was to create to light and airy feeling in this home while staying true to, and respecting, the original design and style of the home.

Here are a couple of before photos:

The kitchen, while aesthetically outdated, was also seriously lacking in good storage, proper organization, and lighting; making it hard for my client to enjoy cooking.  The biggest challenge in the living room was also lighting.

Here are just a few of after photos (More can found in the Houzz feature article as well as www.figinteriors.ca/portfolio.)

We had a fantastic team who worked with us on this project, all from the local area: from the kitchen cabinet maker and installer, to the painters, to the incredible electricians who specialize in log cabins. As well, wherever we could, we sourced furnishings from local stores in an effort to support the local town.

While I love all parts of this job, my absolute favorite part, the one where I get butterflies in my stomach, is the Client Reveal.

When my client came home to a brand new space, she was in awe.  She was overjoyed with the incredible transformation, recently telling me that it has improved her life as a result.

We couldn’t be more happy for her! We transformed her home into a place she thoroughly enjoys: a place where she can relax, unwind, entertain and practice her love of cooking.
